I have continuously been drawn to the mysteries of how we as humans choose paths that ultimately define our future, but more specifically the subconscious recollection within those decisions. My imagery is comprised of familiar animals, insects and human attributes choreographed into circumstances I have personally experienced using printmaking techniques, graphite, muted watercolors and mixed media. I am inspired by the styling of Francisco Goya’s allegorical etchings, the ethereal aesthetic of Dorothea Tanning and illustrative qualities of James Jean. Sinking into the whimsical complex world of these creatures depicts life in a weightless yet challenging manner, in all, signifying that which plagues us, but yet broadens us each personally through human folly and triumphs.
